Charity volleyball game to cease gun violence in Chicago

On Tuesday, March 26, the girl’s varsity volleyball team will host a charity game in honor of all scholar athletes and victims of CPS that have fallen due to gun violence, including sophomore Hadiya Pendleton and senior Tyrone Ladson of Morgan Park High School.

King and Morgan Park will play a scrimmage game against each other because of the recent shootings of their beloved classmates.

The charity is not only to honor the athletes, but to send a message to the community that the senseless violence has to stop and young children’s dreams are being cut short.

The event will be held in the athletic center of Hope Academy (2641 W Harrison Ave) at 6 p.m.

Donations are encouraged to help pay for snacks that will be sold at the fundraiser to create a memorial for the fallen athletes. A scholarship will be made in Hadiya’s name to support young girls who wish to play volleyball just as she.
