“Rip the Runway” King College Prep’s fashion show was held March 15 in the auditorium. The fashion show raised money for the senior prom. Assistant principal Ms. Leeandra Khan and staff member Ms. Stacy Taylor was in charge of the fashion show.
All grade levels participated in the fashion show. They modeled prom wear, sports wear, clubwear, up -and- coming wear, and accessories.
“I enjoyed doing the fashion show especially because it was for a good cause.However I wish more people would have shown up,” said senior Sydney Gale.

On Friday, May 6, KCP students hosted their annual spring talent show. The show filled with many dramatic performances includes not only various singing and dancing acts but also lots of comedian acts. The show was hosted by two seniors, Darnell Fishback and Isis Jones.
The show opened with a performance by Deshante’ Houston, ‘12, who sang ‘Pretty Wings’ by Maxwell. With her high pitches and soft melody Houston won the crowd over magnificently.
“It was a very tremendous and engaging performance,“ said Tiara Smith, ‘12.
The crowd was filled with students from grades 9th to 12th. The seniors lead the crowd chants, dances, and sang along. The night was completed with lots of fun and topped plenty comedian acts.
“We will be thrilled to attend the next one in the fall.”, Kiana Smith,’12.

Next Friday, May 13th, the dance department will hold their annual Spring Concert.
This show, just as previous ones, will feature pieces choreographed by senior students who taught them to the other classes.
The seniors will also present a special senior piece.

The annual fall talent show was hosted by seniors Javon Turner and Xavier Coleman on Oct. 22 in the auditorium.
The show opened up with a performance from lyricist Mario Humphries, ‘14, a.k.a Rio. Other performances included singing duo Two-of-a-Kind, the Jaguar J-Settes, and a duet performed by vocal teacher Mr. Bobie Knight and parent Ms. Helene Wynn. Another act, performed by KCP alumni, wowed the crowd with an unexpected Michael Jackson tribute.
Dexter Coleman, ‘11, acted as deejay, while students danced, sang, rapped, and more.
